‘Life’ on earth comprises various types of organic chemical compounds such as nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. Recent technological advances, including next-generation sequencers and mass spectrometers, provide various kinds of heterogeneous big data on genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics in cells or tissues. Although the importance of utilizing biomedical big data is argued vigorously, it remains a challenge to interpret data and decipher the complete picture of ‘the cell’. For a mechanical understanding of intracellular phenomena, data science-driven approaches have attracted much attention in recent years due to their interdisciplinary applications. In this presentation, we introduce a novel and efficient data science-driven framework to integrate heterogeneous omics data to elucidate complicated and precise mechanisms in higher eukaryotes. The proposed approach facilitates a comprehensive understanding of human diseases caused by their transition from the reversible to irreversible stages. Furthermore, it is urgent to develop a community to integrate wet-researchers who conduct experiments and dry-researchers who conduct computational analysis together and nurture human resources who share basic knowledge to solve fundamental questions in the fields of life- and data-sciences. We provide opportunities to young researchers to enter the new scientific era.
