The 60th Anniversary Event

The Japanese Society for Neurochemistry was initially founded as an affiliated society of the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1958. Since then, the membership has grown particularly in the field of basic research, such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology, and was renamed in 1966. The society has now around 1250 members, and currently constitutes the largest neurochemical association in the world.
