Individual Membership

New membership procedures

If you wish to join, please fill out the "Membership Application Form" below.

  • To join, you will need a recommendation from a member of the Society (regular member or higher). Please contact the recommender in advance before applying.
  • Only council members are displayed in the recommender search. If you wish to join through a recommendation from a regular member, please contact the secretariat.
  • If you do not have a recommender (if you do not know any members), please contact the secretariat.
  • There is no membership fee.
  • When applying for membership, please pay the first year's annual fee by credit card. The enrollment process will be completed once payment has been confirmed and your recommendation has been approved.

About membership types

The membership types and fees are as follows:

Regular member10,000 yen/year
Councilor12,000 yen/year
Distinguished Service Member5,000 yen/year
Senior Member5,000 yen/year
Young member *5,000 yen/year (within 5 years of obtaining a degree)
Student Member* 3,000 yen/year

＊ We are currently running a campaign where new student and young member can waive their first year's membership fee.

  • Student member is required to provide their "planned graduation date of highest level of education" when joining, and young member is required to provide "planned graduation date of highest level of education" when joining. If there are any changes, please update the "planned graduation date of highest level of education/year and month of graduation of highest level of education" on your My Page.
    (Your membership category for the following year will be changed based on your "planned graduation date of highest level of education/year and month of graduation of highest level of education" as of the end of December.)
  • Student member who has passed the "date and time of expected graduation from their final academic level" will automatically be promoted to young member.
    Young member who have passed five years since their "date and time of expected graduation from their final academic level" will automatically be promoted to regular member.
  • Annual membership fees are calculated on a yearly basis from January to December.

Regarding payment of membership fees

  • Annual membership fees are calculated on a yearly basis from January to December.
  • We will send you an email informing you of your annual membership fee around February each year. Please log in to your My Page (members only) and pay your membership fee promptly by credit card .
  • If you wish to make a bank transfer, please log in to your My Page (members only) and check the transfer details and amount under "Invoice reissue."

If you wish to cancel your membership

Please be sure to contact the secretariat by email.


(Annual membership fees are calculated on a yearly basis, from January to December. If you do not notify us of your intention to cancel by the end of December, we will charge you the annual membership fee for the following year.)

To apply for corporate or supporting membership, please fill out the necessary information on the application form below and submit it to our secretariat by mail, fax, or email (jsn@imic.or.jp).
