2026年9月9日（水）～12日（土）に、びわ湖大津プリンスホテルにて EMBO Workshop「Neurodevelopmental disorders: genes to circuits and behavior」を開催いたします。

本ワークショップを、Konstantin Khodosevich先生、Alicia Che先生、澤本 和延先生、Jelena Radulovic先生とともに企画・運営しています。

初日には、澤 明先生（Johns Hopkins University）によるKeynote Lecture “Neuroscience that begins with patients and ended with patients: the use of reverse translation for novel mechanistic discovery” が予定されおり、本ワークショップ全体を通じて、遺伝学、single-cell genomics、脳オルガノイド、神経回路、行動までをつなぐ形で、精神神経疾患・神経発達症研究の最前線を議論します。また、Nature Neuroscience のエディターとの “Meet the Editor” ランチセッションも予定されています。

国内外からトップレベルの研究者が集い、分野横断的なディスカッションや新たなコラボレーション創出の場となるものと確信しております。

旅費助成や参加費免除などの支援制度も予定されています。また、会場ホテルの特別宿泊料金も案内予定です。

We are pleased to announce the EMBO Workshop “Neurodevelopmental disorders: genes to circuits and behavior”, which will be held at the Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel in Otsu, Japan, from 9–12 September 2026.

I am co-organizing this international workshop with Drs. Konstantin Khodosevich, Alicia Che, Kazunobu Sawamoto, and Jelena Radulovic.

The meeting will open with a Keynote Lecture by Dr. Akira Sawa (Johns Hopkins University):
“Neuroscience that begins with patients and ended with patients: the use of reverse translation for novel mechanistic discovery.”

The program will bring together top-tier researchers from around the world to discuss the latest advances in neurodevelopmental disorders, spanning genetics, single-cell genomics, brain organoids, neural circuits, and behavior. In addition, a “Meet the Editor” lunch session with an editor from Nature Neuroscience will be held. It offers an exciting opportunity for interdisciplinary discussions, networking, and new collaborations.

Travel grants and registration fee waivers will be available. Special room rates at the designated conference hotel, located by Lake Biwa with beautiful scenic views, will also be announced.
